Director of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia - Police Colonel Vazha Siradze, Border Police Chief – Major-General Nikoloz Sharadze and his first deputy - Border Police Colonel- Gocha Janjghava payed an official working visit to the Republic of Lithuania.
Within the framework of the visit, Nikoloz Sharadze and Vazha Siradze met with the head of the State Border Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, General Rustamas Liubajevas. Representatives of the State Border Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to border protection and border security issues.
The head of the border protection service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania - Rustamas Liubajevas, the head of the border police of Georgia - Nikoloz Sharadze and the Director of the Patrol Police Department - Vazha Siradze signed the 2023-2024 plan for cooperation on border protection issues.
The guests visited various units of the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Lithuania. The representatives of the Lithuanian border agency introduced the activities of the national coordination center, regional units and the school of border protection to the members of the Georgian delegation and shared their experience with the Georgian colleagues on the operators of the border crossing points, the existing equipment and the introduced technologies. The Lithuanian colleagues also provided the Georgian side with detailed information about the rules for checking travel documents and radioactive substances.
Within the framework of the visit, members of the Georgian delegation also visited the training school of the Lithuanian Border Guard Service, where they l got familiarized about the training course for border guards.
