With the support and organization of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), within the framework of the project - "Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings: Sustaining Multi-Agency Collaboration through Natioanal Simulation-based Exercise", a national simulation training on human trafficking issues was held in Georgia for the first time.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of IDPs from the occupied territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Public Defender participated in the simulation training, which took place for 5 days at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Giorgi Osadze, Director of the Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, attended the closing event of the project. He congratulated the beneficiaries of the project, as well as the participants, on the successful completion of the training and thanked them for their fruitful work.
The Director of the Department of Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring also thanked the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for the assistance and project organization. He highlighted the priority of combating human trafficking and raising the qualifications of the Ministry's employees, as well as the importance of effective and victim-oriented proceedings and the implementing simulation-based training in Georgia.
Withing the framework OSCE-supported project and training, practical exercises and activities were set up according to pre-prepared simulated scenarios, that were as close as possible to the real-life criminal cases. Therefore, the participants of the training, along with theoretical knowledge, had the opportunity to gain practical experience as well.
At the end of the closing event of the project, the heads of the agencies participating in the training awarded relevant certificates to the training participants.
