The officers of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative measures detained the citizen of Turkey in Murmaneti village, Khelvachauri municipality for illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia.
The investigation found that the defendant crossed the state border of Georgia from the Republic of Turkey illegally, avoiding the border checkpoint.
Investigation is underway on the fact of illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia, the crime envisaged by the 1st part of the article 344, the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Also, as a result of operative measures carried out by the police officers of the Border Police of the MIA in the section of #1 border sector (Sarpi) of the First Division detained one more citizen of the Republic of Turkey for the attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia.
