Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been working in Oni region, disaster zone, in round-the-clock regime.
Border Police helicopter made seven flights in the region to eliminate problems caused by the flood. According to the results of 20:00 pm, more than 100 citizens have been transported to the safe places, including 21 under-aged persons. According to the information at hand, no one has been injured. Lives and health of the local population are not endangered.
In the town of Oni, two Border Police helicopters are mobilized. Beginning from tomorrow morning, as soon as visibility is restored, helicopters will resume flights in the disaster zone to provide locals with basic necessities and food products.
Deputy Minister Ioseb Tchelidze is in the disaster zone at the moment as well as the head of Emergency Situations Management Agency, Temur Mgebrishvili to manage the ongoing process on the ground.
Up to 90 rescuers and firefighters of Emergency Situations Management Agency have been mobilized in the disaster zone with special equipment, drones and all necessary machinery as well.
