The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in close coordination with other departments of the Agency, effectively ensures the fight against illegal migration within the country. In particular, over the past month, 85 citizens of various countries were deported from the Georgia.
Some of the foreign citizens left Georgia voluntarily, while others were deported as a result of measures taken by the Migration Department employees. The deported persons were banned from entering the country in accordance with the law.
A total 85 citizens of Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Nigeria, Algeria, China, Armenia, Nepal, India, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Myanmar, Lithuania, Israel and Cameroon were deported from Georgia.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies stipulates to identify and deport foreign citizens in Georgia without a legal basis.
