Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that in connection with a heavy snowing certain restrictions have been imposed on Batumi-Kobuleti pass for certain types of vehicles, such as trucks. Patrol Police crews are mobilized and operate in the round-the-clock regime on highways and main roads.
At this moment road leading to the mountainous regions of Ajara are open for all types of traffic. Heavy snowing has caused not a single traffic accidents.
Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have responded to the 72 emergency calls during the night and rendered assistance to the drivers.
It’s been two day since heavy snowing started in Guria. Despite intensive snowing and precipitation traffic movement is open for all types of transport on Samtredia-lanchkhuri main road sector. On Samtredia-Chokhatauri road sector traffic movement is restricted for trucks. On Sajavakho pass traffic movement is being monitored by the patrol police, granting permit to continue movement only to those vehicles which are in a normal condition from the technical point of view and suitable for moving in the snow.
Road clearing works are actively held in Guria region. Distant villages in the mountainous regions are approachable.
