Police detained six individuals during the confrontation near the TV Company Rustavi-2. Activists of the Public Movement "Georgian Marsh" have been detained under the Articles 166 and 173 of the Administrative Offenses Code. Activists of the Public Movement "Georgian Marsh" gathered in front of the TV company, in Sandro Euli Street, Tbilisi, and expressed protest regarding the program broadcasted on TV.
Confrontation between journalists and activists took place and one of the journalists was injured. He was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched investigation under the Article 126 (Violence) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. During the incident, a car belonging to one of the employees of the TV Company was damaged. The investigation on the mentioned fact is launched under the Article 187 (damaging of other’s object or property) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Today, notification to the “112” regarding the rally held by members of "Georgian Marsh" in the adjacent territory of TV Company Rustavi 2 was received at 16:32. Mobilization of patrol crews in the yard of “Rustavi 2” began at 16:39. The officers of the patrol police and criminal police officers are still near the building of TV Company “Rustavi 2” in order to protect public order and ensure security.
