The officers of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained S.K., the Deputy Head of Supsa Police Unit of Lanchkhuti Regional Division of Guria Police Department for bribe taking. The crime committed envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years in length.
The investigation established that S.K. was systematically receiving bribe from the citizen B.P. in exchange for patronizing him in the seizure and selling of fuel from the technical equipment (tractors) operating in Supsa highway.
B.P. admitted the fact of bribe-taking during the interview with the officers of the General Inspectorate and cooperated with the investigation.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of bribe-taking (Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
