The officers of Tbilisi Police Main Division as a result of operative activities detained Georgian citizen of Chinese orogin Ivane K. (DoB 1956).
Investigation established that on Januaty 4 detainee was involved in confrontation on the basis of money issues with the neighboring currency exchange point owner, Genadi L. (DoB 1958) in his currency exchange facility, located on Kazbegi, Tbilisi. As a result of the conflict detainee inflicted lethal injury to Genadi L. in chest area with a firearm, due to the injury victim died at the place of incident.
Afterwards Ivane K. locked himself in the currency exchange point and threatened with suicide. As a result of negotiations that lasted for 15 hours, law enforcers managed to disarm Ivane K. and detained him.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the Criminal Code.
