Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs - Ioseb Chelidze, Giorgi Butkhuzi and Head of Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili, together with the family members and relatives of those citizens who have not been able to be contacted so far, flew to the epicenter of the disaster.
They received detailed information on the search and rescue operation and got familiarized with situation in the disaster zone. The territory was inspected by means of drones.
The meeting of the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the family members of the citizens lost during the disaster took place yesterday, during which they expressed their desire to see for themselves the situation in the disaster area.
In Oni municipality, in the disaster zone, 11 dead bodies were found by firemen and rescuers within the frames of the search and rescue operation.
The search for the missing citizens has been ongoing continuously for the third day. Fire-rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service, police units, drones, special equipment and border police helicopters are involved in the activities. The K-9 unit of Emergency Situations Management Service is involved in the operation as well.
