On December 18, 2022, the Main Investigative Division of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the fact of premeditated murder and wounding that occurred on the same day in Tbilisi (under Article 19-109 and Article 236, Parts III and IV of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
The investigation established that G.S., (DoB 1987), in presence of his accompanying person – G.G. (DoB 1989), shot L.A. (DoB 1983) in the head area, on the basis of a mutual dispute, who died at the scene. During the conflict, Z.G. (DoB 1966) was wounded in the abdomen area and was taken to the hospital.
As soon as the crime took place, both persons fled the scene in a car.
In order to determine the whereabouts of perpetrators, Kakheti Police Department employees were involved in police activities, and in order to obtain information on their whereabouts, they visited the house of G.S.'s relative in Lagodekhi municipality along with other addresses, where they encountered with G.S.
Seeing police officers, G.S. took out a firearm, first he pointed the firearm to the direction of the police officers, and then his head and made a shot, as a result of which he died on the spot. The mentioned fact was witnessed by G.G. who was in the same house along with police officers.
The law enforcement officers detained G.G. (DoB 1989) in Lagodekhi municipality for concealing the fact of premeditating murder and wounding in Tbilisi that took place on December 18 of the current year.
In connection with the fact of suicide committed by G.S. in Lagodekhi municipality, the investigation is conducted by Special Investigation Service.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs expresses its readiness to take active participation in the investigation process.
