During the protest rally in front of Adjara governmental building in Batumi, law enforcers detained 25 individuals under Articles 173 and 166 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
In the course of the protest rally that started in the streets of Batumi last night, the police took all necessary measures to protect the legal rights of those gathered and the security of public order.
Law enforcers ensured the march of the protesters with maximum protection of security measures.
Later on, the protesters set up tents in front of the Adjara Governmental building and caused the blockage of the main road. Considering the number of people gathered in full compliance with the acting legislation, the police restricted the traffic movement in the streets of Batumi, and when the number of protesters decreased, blocking of the traffic movement was no longer needed and therefore the traffic movement was restored by police and the public order observed on the ground.
Despite numerous calls and warnings from the side of police, the protesters did not adhere to the rightful request of the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to unblock the road, and continued their illegal actions, owning to which, they were detained.
Two of the detainees were released on bail, while the other detainees are being held at the temporary detention facility.
