Public Safety Management Center “112” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received report according to which, road accident took place on Shatili road, near to Biso village, Dusheti municipality. As a result, mini bus fell over a rocky slope, from the height of approximately 80 meters. As soon as the report was received all respective units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were mobilized and deployed at the site. Criminal police, as well as patrol police crews, fire- rescuer teams of Emergency Situations Management Agency and special technic are mobilized at the scene. Emergency Ambulance crews are also deployed at the place of the road accident.
Rescue operations are being carried out in full compliance with all safety norms. Rescue teams continue the rescue operation, despite the difficult terrain and meteorological conditions.
According to the preliminary information, 12 citizens died as a result of falling and three have received severe injuries. Injured civilians have already been rescued by the employees of Emergency Situations Management Agency, who are being transferred to hospital by the ambulance crews at the moment. The search and rescue operation of other transport passengers continues. Passengers are undergoing identification procedures at the moment. Other operative-investigative measures underway at the moment, all relevant forensic examinations have already been appointed.
Ministry of Internal Affairs has already launched investigation regarding the mentioned fact under the article 276 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
