The investigators of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were trained by the Office of the Council of Europe on legal and psychological aspects of juvenile justice.
In the framework of the training, the experts together with the participants discussed such topics as: the influence of age characteristics on the behavior of a juvenile, basic principles of interviewing a juvenile defendant, the determinants of false confession, the structure and scope of the Juvenile Justice Code, juvenile delinquency etc.
The training was conducted within the framework of the project "Juvenile and Adult Detaines Support (JADES).”
The project has being implemented in close cooperation with the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2019. The project aims to better protect rights of detainees and improve their treatment by training police officers and the investigators working with the juvenile victims and juvenile offenders as well as by supporting better management of the detainees in the Temporary Detention Isolators.
