The penalty slip is deemed to be delivered to the individual on the 30th day of its publication on the police.ge
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has begun publication of the video penalty slips on the official web-site - police.ge according to the new rule of enforcing the video penalties defined by the Code of Administrative Offenses of Georgia.
According to regulations effective from November 1, 2017:
• The offender shall be notified about the offense immediately upon the fixing of penalty with an SMS;
• After reception the SMS on a video penalty related to the offence in road safety an individual shall enjoy 20% benefit if he/she pays the penalty within 10 calendar days from the day of the SMS;
• In case if an individual fails to pay for the video penalty within 10 calendar days from the day of the SMS, the slip shall be sent to him/her to his/her place of registration by a mail;
• In case of non-delivery of the video penalty according to the place of registration the slip shall be sent again to the relevant individual within the period from 30 to 60 days;
• In case of failure to deliver the video slip by a mail twice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia shall ensure the publication of the slip on its official website: www.police.ge;
• The penalty slip shall be deemed to be delivered to the relevant person on the 30th day from the day of its publication;
• The penalty imposed for a violation recorded on a video or the photo shall be paid by the individual within 30 days from the day of the delivery of the slip; in case of failure of payment, it shall be accrued a fine; in the event of failure to pay for the fine, the rule of the compulsory enforcement set forth by the legislation of Georgia shall be applied;
• The six-month period of limitation set for the offences recorded in the video or photo has been increased up to 1 year.
• Civilian has the opportunity to receive services through banks, fast payment devices and service agency application;
It is noteworthy that the system of reduction of scores on the penalties recorded on the video or a photo shall not be applied.
According to the regulation, the video penalty system also applies to the vehicles with internal transit number plates. The penalty slips issued to such vehicles shall be also publicized on the police.ge.
