The Ministry of Internal Affairs has destroyed narcotics seized as evidence as a result of investigative and procedural measures carried out at different times throughout Georgia worth of more than 37 million GEL on the so called black market.
Employees of the Forensic-Criminalistics Department are periodically destructing drugs and psychoactive substances in presence of members of a Special Standing Commission, following a court decision, in accordance with the relevant order of the Minister of Internal Affairs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs destructed the following drugs seized from the illegal circulation this year:
• 23 kilogram and 759 grams of "heroin"
• 12 127 tablets of "Subutex"
• 9 kilogram of “Cocaine”
• 220 grams of "MDMA"
• 347 grams of methadone
• 1 ton and 655 kg of hemp
• 1 ton and 15 kg of "Marijuana"
• 1000 tablets containing MDMA
• 367 capsules / tablets of "Tramadol"
• 125 tablets containing methadone
• 896 grams of hemp resin
• 229 grams of "Alpha PVP"
• 679 capsules of "Pregabalin"
• 260 grams of a new psychoactive substance
580 capsules "Pseudoephedrine"
Law enforcement officers destructed drugs seized from illegal circulation as evidence in compliance with the existing environmental standards in special incinerator.
Process of drug destruction was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Health and the General Prosecutor's Office, along with the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
