The officers of Gldani-Nadzaladevi Division of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-searching and investigative activities detained G.A. (DoB: 1982). The detainee is charged with intentional serious damage to health, which resulted in death of a human being. The crime committed is punishable with the term of imprisonment from 4 to 7 years in length.
On April 13 of the current year the Ministry of Internal Affairs was reported that near one of the residential building in Mukhiani the body of a young injured man was seen. Police immediately arrived to the crime scene. There were injuries on the lower extremities of a body inflicted from the firearm. The wounded individual was transferred to the hospital by the emergency brigade, however, as a result of the injuries he died in the hospital.
As a result of immediate searching and investigative activities the law enforcers in few hours after the incident at the border check point “Red Bridge” detained G.A., the relative of the deceased as an accused.
As the material evidence the Police seized the rifle – “Remington 700” – registered on the name of G.A. Also 2 cartridge cases of bullets were seized from the crime scene.
The investigation is in progress under the Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which means intentional damage to health, causing the death of a person.
