The Ministry of Internal Affairs on the basis of a judge's decision on the fact of extortion detained previously multiply convicted M.K. (DoB: 1974). The crime committed by him envisages imprisonment up to 4 years in length.
The officers of the Division Combating Criminals World of the Main Division Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained the offender in Tbilisi.
The investigation established that M.K. through threats and coercion systematically extorted money from the citizen.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of extortion (part I of the Article 181 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
