The officers of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative and investigative activities detained 3 citizens of the Republic of India. They are accused of illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia in group.
The crime committed envisages from 4 to 5 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused individuals illegally crossed in group the State Border of Georgia from the Republic of Armenia.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal crossing of the state border in group (sub-clause “a” of the part 2 of the Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
In 2020, the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the fact of illegal crossing and attempted illegal crossing of the State Border gave to the criminal responsibility 92 citizens of different countries, among them are: 35 citizens of the Republic of Turkey, 9 citizens of India, 4 citizens of Iran, 4 citizens of Palestine, 1 citizen of Morocco and 1 citizen of Algeria.
