The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues the active fight against "criminal mentality” and the "thieves' world".
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department along with Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of complex investigative activities and operative-investigative measures carried out in Adjara in cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office, exposed the fact of criminal skirmish between citizens. 1 person has been charged in absentia.
Law enforcers arrested L.D. (DoB 1982), G.Kh. (DoB 1965, brother of the so-called thief in law - Roman Khmaladze, nicknamed "Roma Batumski") and Z.T. (DoB 1978) for membership in the “Thieves’ World”, as well as D.K. (DoB 1964, Nicknamed "Duke", brother of the so-called law thief - Aslan Kobuladze, nicknamed "Aslan Batumski") and A. D. (DoB 1973, Nicknamed "Pachicha"), - who were arrested for supporting the activities of the "thieves' world".
In addition, the brothers - J.B. (DoB 1964) and J.B.(DoB 1968), as well as their cousin, R.K. (DoB 1967, nicknamed "Kamo") are arrested on charges of appealing to a member of the "Thieves' World".
As for R.Z. (DoB 1984, nicknamed "Balu"), he was charged in absentia for membership of the "thieves' world".
The committed crime envisions from 3 to 10 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused brothers had a financial dispute with each other, and a confrontation arose between one of the brothers and R.K. over a plot of land adjacent to their residential areas.
The disputing parties turned to the criminal authorities for help, namely to - L.D., G.Kh., Z.T., D.K. and A.D.
In order to resolve the dispute, L. D. contacted the Georgian thief in law - Mindia Lavasogli who is residing abroad and the criminal authority living with him – R.Z. (nicknamed "Balu").
In order to resolve financial and everyday disputes between relatives and obtain personal benefits, criminal authorities have organized several so-called criminal skirmishes, attended by the disputing parties, criminal authorities and remotely participated by the thieves in law - Mindia Lavasogli and the criminal authority - R.Z. (Nicknamed "Balu").
Police seized computer equipment, a large amount of cash and cell phones used by detainees to communicate with each other and "thieves in law" abroad.
During the personal search and search activities held in detainees’ residential areas the law enforcers also seized various types of firearms, ammunition and narcotics as evidence.
Investigation into the facts of membership in the "Thieves' World", support for the activities of the "Thieves' World" and appeals to the members of the "Thieves' World" is in progress under Article 223, Part I, Article 223, Part III, Article 223 and 223-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
