As a result of operative and investigative activities, the officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 3 persons on charges of physical resistance and violence against police officers which took place in the vicinity of Tbilisi City Court on November 29. The detainees are as follows: E.S. (DoB 1966), L.S. (DoB 1963) and S.G. (DoB1972).
On the same day, B.T. (DoB1974) was arrested on charges of resisting and using violence against a police officer.
The committed crime envisages from 2 to 5 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on November 29 of the current year, during the protest rally in front of Tbilisi City Court, the defendants ignored the lawful requests of the police to come down from the security booth roof and continue the protest in a safe place. Defendant B.T. attacked patrol police officer, knocked him down on the roof of a booth, and verbally and physically assaulted.
The second defendant E.S. who accompanied B.T. on security booth roof, confronted the employee of Special Tasks Department with the aim of throwing him from the height. Later on, along with other protesters, E.S. continued to disrupt public order, during which he was arrested by police.
L.S. and S.G. arrested on the same charges, violated public order during the rally, insulted police officers and failed to adhere to the rightful requests of the law enforcers. They also resisted and physically assaulted employees of Tbilisi Police and Patrol Police Departments.
As a result of the study of the materials reflecting facts of violation and the investigative measures carried out, on December 1, E.S. and L.S. were arrested for resisting and assaulting a police officer, while S.G. was arrested by the law enforcers in Akhaltsikhe on the basis of the relevant court decision.
The investigation is underway under the first parts of Article 353 and Article 3531 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
