Today, when I once again have the honor to celebrate Policeman’s Day with you, I want to address each of you that I will not accept anyone to harm your dignity and honor. I want you to believe that I will be a defender of your dignity everywhere and always. I want you to believe that I am on your side as a Minister, as a police officer and as a citizen. I want you to wear the policeman's uniform with dignity and always remember that you are serving Georgia. As the Minister of Internal Affairs, I am proud that today the Georgian police is equipped with modern technologies and powerful analytical systems, we have a well-structured legal base, successful international cooperation, strategic visions and documents tailored to the needs and current challenges. The Ministry has a proper infrastructure, equipment and material-technical base, updated car fleet and armament. Policemen, it is your professionalism and high qualification that is well demonstrated in the indicators of crime-crimes index, which is increasing each year and reached an unprecedented level in 2024. It is necessary for a police officer to have decent work conditions and to constantly feel support and appreciation from the state. I can proudly state that the Georgian police is composed of decent, professional and dedicated employees. The role of each of you in protecting the security of our country is very important. Policemen! Once again, I congratulate you on Policeman’s Day!", - noted Vakhtang Gomelauri.
After the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Prime Minister of Georgia - Irakli Kobakhidze, addressed the police:
"I am glad that I have the opportunity to congratulate the Minister of Internal Affairs, the leadership of the Ministry, our proud policemen, all employees of the Ministry on their Professional Day. Protecting the safety of each citizen, the highly professional, responsible, constantly developing police force is the guarantor of Georgia's strength and security, a necessary precondition for its progress. As a result of the reforms carried out in recent years, with the work and enthusiasm of each of you, the Georgian police has been transformed into a modern institution of the highest standards. Today's reputation of a police officer is the most important public asset, the special trust and respect of the people. By maintaining law and order, by being loyal to people and the country, by daily work, often at the risk of their lives, by caring for the life and safety of others, you are performing an invaluable service for public safety and the well-being of our homeland. Unfortunately, many of your colleagues and friends gave their most precious lives to save others. Today, along with you, I will once again honor the memory of the heroic police officers who died in the line of duty. Dear friends, in the recently developed processes in our country, you once again demonstrated high professionalism and patriotism. I have said many times and would like to emphasize once again that the Georgian police today operates at a higher standard than the European and American law enforcement agencies, once again I am immensely grateful for this. I am aware how important is the support of the closest people when it comes to your most difficult work, I want to thank your parents, spouses, children, each member of your families. On behalf of the Government of Georgia and myself, I would like to thank you once again for your invaluable work, professionalism and patriotism, and I promise to continue supporting you. I wish you and your families peace, well-being and success and once again congratulate you on Policeman’s Day- noted Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament - Shalva Papuashvili, congratulated the policemen on their professional day and addressed:
"I congratulate everyone on the Professional Day of the Georgian Police. It is symbolic that just a few days ago we celebrated the Independence Day of Georgia. It is symbolic, given the fact that independence and sovereignty of our country depends on the effectiveness and professionalism of state institutions. One of the most important among these institutions is the Georgian Police. It is the Georgian police that ensures the peaceful and proper functioning of our country, safety and protection of each family and person. I salute your bravery, courage, devotion and loyalty to the motherland. I bow before the memory of those policemen who sacrificed the most precious thing - their lives and health for the motherland. Their families deserve the greatest respect and support. Ladies and gentlemen, throughout the 33-year history of Georgia's independence, we have seen a long process of transformation of the Georgian police force, accurately reflecting the degree of democratization and statehood strength of our country. It must be noted that the higher the democratization and the stability of the state institutions, the more humane and consistent are the principles and strategy of the police structures. Since 2012, fundamental changes have been made in the Georgian police. The agency was released from political pressure, fully harmonized with the best European standards at the level of legislation, internal regulations and practice. Today, we have a law enforcement structure, guided by the highest standard of human rights protection. Today, the Georgian police stands beside the Georgian people as a protective shield, facing Georgia's threats and challenges. The largest part of the population of Georgia realizes and appreciates the high self-awareness and great patriotism of the Georgian policemen. Only the adversaries of this country can insult the policeman of his own country and try to tarnish their reputation, we also witness a deliberate action to destroy the sovereignty and statehood of our country, carried out with great enthusiasm and eagerness by internal and external enemies. I want to tell each of them that an attack on the Georgian police is an attack on the Georgian state, and an attack on the Georgian state and its institutions will fail, as today they are as firm and steadfast as ever," – noted Shalva Papuashvili.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze also addressed the policemen with a speech and congratulated them on their professional day:
"I have the honor to congratulate the people on their professional day who are the pillars when it comes to the safety, peace and stability of our country, our population. It is a bliss to serve the motherland, to serve with dignity, to serve in a way that the policeman's uniform to become a symbol of safety, pride and heroism for our society. I congratulate each employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Policeman's Day, who even at this moment maintain order, fight crime and are involved in rescue operations, protect the borders of our country, take care of road safety, and enforce law. I congratulate the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Vakhtang Gomelauri, who represents the agency, on Policeman's Day. On this day, I congratulate each citizen of our country, as the Georgian police is the guarantee for the stability of your, mine and our families. That is why I want to remind everyone once again that insulting a policeman, attempts to endanger their lives. Attack on them equals to attacking the state. Today our state is strong, for that I would like to thank all the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, each policeman who is oriented on ensuring justice and protecting the interests of our citizens. I would like to commemorate the policemen, rescuers, firefighters, and border guards who died in the line of duty. Thank you once again for your honorable service to the country. I congratulate you on today's day, may God protect you, your families and the entire country" - noted Kakha Kaladze.
