The officers of the Main Division for the Fight against Illegal Drug Circulation under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained Zh.I. (DoB 1978) and B.L. (DoB 1966) for illegal purchase - keeping and smuggling drugs to Georgia in especially large quantities.
Committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 of lifetime imprisonment.
Law enforcers managed to detain Zh.I. when he arrived to Georgia by Paris-Tbilisi flight. During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 330 Pills of “Subutex” drug, containing “buprenorphine”.
Investigation established that B.L. purchased the mentioned drug and smuggled drugs on the territory of Georgia with the help of Z.I. B.L. was detained by police on the basis of a respective court decision.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase-keeping and smuggling drugs on the territory of Georgia, article 260, III part, sub-paragraph “A”, part VI of the same article, sub-paragraph “A”, article 262, II part, sub-paragraph “B”, part IV of the same article, sub-paragraph “A” of the criminal Code of Georgia.
