The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department and Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Prosecutor General's Office, detained 12 people, including 10 drug dealers, in Ponichala settlement and other districts of Tbilisi as a result of complex operative and investigative activities in November.
On the charges of illegal drug dealing the following individuals were detained: G.A. (DoB 1989) D.V. (DoB 1978) T.I. (DoB1978) B.Ts. (DoB 1981) Citizen of Azerbaijan, Sh. A. (DoB 1996A.E.(DoB 1982) S.Ts. (DoB1984) E.K. (DoB 2004) N.G. (DoB 2004), N.D. (DoB 2000). Two more persons - A.D.(DoB1982) and V.Zh.(DoB 1988) were arrested for illegal purchase and storage of drugs in especially large quantities.
The committed crimes envision from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The investigation established that the arrested persons sold drugs on the regular basis.
Following the relevant decision of the court, the law enforcers carried out several control purchases of "Heroin", "Buprenorphine" and "Alpha-PVP" from the defendants and recorded the process.
During the personal search of V.Zh., arrested for illegal purchase and storage of drugs, the police seized 99 pills containing MDMA drug as evidence, while during the personal search of A.D. 30 pills containing MDMA drug as well as 10 pills containing amphetamine and up to 19 grams of cocaine were seized.
Investigation is in progress under the Article 260, parts III, IV and VI of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies illegal purchase, storage and selling drugs in especially large quantities.
