As a result of the procedural and investigative activities, the employees of the Main Investigative Division and the Detectives Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained G.N. (DoB 1968) on charges of the attempted murder committed against more than two persons under aggravating circumstances and illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms.
The committed crime envisions from 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
During the investigation, it was established that the accused person wounded 6 people with an automatic firearm during the conflict that occurred on the ground of argument. As a result of firing G.G. (DoB 1971) died before being transferred to the hospital. The other 5 people were transferred to the clinic, where they were given appropriate medical treatment.
After committing the crime, G.N. hid from the crime scene. The police arrested him few minutes after the incident. Weapon of crime were seized as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 19-109 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to attempted murder committed against two or more persons under aggravating circumstances and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms.
