The officers of the District Inspectors Division of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the fact of threatening and chasing the journalist - Inga Grigolia – detained R.N. (DoB: 1970). The crime committed by him envisages imprisonment up to 2 years in length.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation on the above-mentioned fact on May 19, 2018 after Inga Grigolia made a publication of information on the social network. The investigation was launched on the basis of the mentioned information.
The relevant investigative actions were conducted promptly; Inga Grigolia and other witnesses were interviewed. Threats containing letters and other types of messages have been seized as material evidences.
The investigation established that R.N. during a long period of time used to send threatening messages to Inga Grigolia by telephone, electronic and other means.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of threatening and chasing (I part of the Article 151 and I part of the Article 1511 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
