The officers of the Search Division of the Main Division Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained in Tbilisi International Airport a citizen of Georgia - Zaza Bakradze (DoB: 1969) - internationally wanted under the red notice from 2013.
Zaza Bakradze is one of the accused individuals in the murder case of Amiran (Buta) Robakidze. The investigation established that on November 24, 2004 in Tsereteli Avenue, Tbilisi, Zaza Bakradze, along with other persons, with the purpose of concealing the crime brought to the crime scene illegally purchased firearm and ammunition.
In 2004 Zaza Bakradze was one of the senior officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - he took the position of the Head of the Criminal Police of Tbilisi Main Division.
For the crime committed on February 7, 2013 Zaza Bakradze was sentenced in absentia and consequently announced as wanted under the red notice.
The detainee is charged with the crimes envisaged by the III part of Article 236 and III part of the Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (illegal transportation of firearms and abuse of power).
