The Ministry of Internal Affairs in compliance with the contemporary standards has destructed drugs seized at various stages of investigation of 676 criminal cases. The value of the destructed drugs at the so called “black market” is approximately 9 million Gel.
Based on the special Decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs and following the relevant Court decision, law enforcers are gradually conducting destruction of drugs and psychoactive substances in presence of the Standing Commission representatives.
The Agency destructed drugs seized from illegal circulation as a result of investigative activities held across the country, in particular: 3065 pills of “Subutex”, 302 gr. of “Heroin”, 205 pills and 14 capsules of “Tramadol”, 327 kg. of cannabis, 13 kg. of “Marijuana”, 16 kg. of semi-processed cannabis, 7 kg. and 1150 pills of “Codeine”, 204 capsules of “Methadone” and 287 pills of “MDMA”.
The mentioned drugs have been destructed in a special, high temperature oven, in accordance with the existing environmental standards. Process of drug destruction was attended by MIA representatives as well as the official representatives from the various ministries and governmental agencies.
