The officers of the Main Division for Combating Drug Trafficking under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 4 people for drug-related crimes in Tbilisi as a result of complex investigative activities carried out at different times in recent period.
The following persons have been arrested for the attempted illegal purchase, storage and selling of drugs in especially large quantities: foreign citizen, D.S. (DoB 2001), foreign national D.G. (DoB 1991), L.K. (DoB 1998) and Z.L. (DoB 1962).
The committed crime envisions from 5 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
During a search of D.S's temporary place of residence, law enforcement officers seized more than 5 kilograms of “Cocaine” containing drug substance, up to 30 grams of pure “Cocaine”, ready for realization.
As for D.G, during his personal search and search activities held in his temporary place of residence, the police seized 223 grams of “Cocaine” as evidence. The law enforcers also seized up to 40 grams of cocaine from one of the addresses ready for further sale.
During the personal search of L.K. the officers of the Central Criminal Police Department seized up to 30 grams of “Cocaine”.
In total, law enforcers seized up to 7 kilograms of „Cocaine”. The cost of the seized drug on the so called black market amounts to 7 million GEL.
In addition, during the personal search of Z.L., who was detained in the village of Verkhviani, Sagarejo Municipality, the officers of the Central Criminal Police Department seized 2 packages of “Heroin” drug.
Investigation into the attempted illegal purchase, storage and selling of drugs in especially large quantities is in progress under Article 260, Part III and VI, Subparagraphs "A", Article 19-260, Part VII, subparagraph "A" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
