Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with the General Prosecutor's Office, arrested 6 people in Shida Kartli region as a result of complex operational measures and investigative activities, based on the judge's decision.
The following persons have been arrested for membership of the "Thieves' World"- Z.K. (DoB 1991 (nicknamed "Keko"), N.M. (DoB 1986, nicknamed "Machita"), G.A. (DoB 1989) and N.T. (DoB 1998, nicknamed "Grandfather".
The following persons were detained for being “Thieves in Law” - L.L.. (DoB 2000) and G.I. (DoB 2004).
The committed crime envisions up to 10 years of imprisonment.
As a result of intensive investigative actions conducted by the law enforcement officers, it was established that a conflict arose between the defendants – L.L. and G.I. who were employed together, physically confronted each other after the verbal confrontation. The defendants decided to resolve the conflict according to the rules of the "thieves' world" and appealed to the criminal authorities, after which a the so called trial was organized between the defendants.
As a result of the personal search of personal and search activities held in their residential houses, police seized computer equipment and mobile phones as evidence, through which they communicated with each other and with the "Thieves in law" abroad.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 223 (1) part I and Article 223 (4) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
