The employees of the main division for the fight against organized crime under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search measures and investigative actions conducted together with the General Prosecutor's Office, arrested 4 people convicted of various serious crimes in past, and 1 person in absentia on the basis of the relevant court decision.
The following persons have been detained for supporting activities of the criminal world: I.Kh. (DoB 1977, nicknamed "Khavtasa"), Z.G (DoB 1983, nicknamed "Puppy") and L.A. (DoB 1976, nicknamed "Mola").
M.Ch. 1978, nicknamed "Khonski") is arrested on the charge of appealing to the "Thief in law".
As for J.K. (DoB 1977), considering the fact that he is residing abroad, the later was charged with being a "Thief in Law" in absentia.
Committed crimes envision from 6 to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that I.Kh., Z.G. and L.A., due to the financial dispute, had had a conflict with M.Ch. They tried to settle the dispute with the help of the “Thief in Law” and physically assaulted him.
On the other hand, M.Ch. brought the Georgian "thief in law" J.K. (nicknamed "Jeirana"), who demanded from disputing parties to arrange the so-called criminal skirmish.
In L.A.'s residential apartment, located in Tbilisi, the so-called Thieves’ trial was arranged, in which disputing parties participated, while "Thief in law" J.K. participated in the meeting remotely.
As a result of the search, the police seized the computer equipment and mobile phones of the defendants, through which they communicated with each other and with the Georgian "thief in law" abroad.
Investigation into the case is being conducted under articles 223(1), part II, 223(3), part II, and 223 (4), part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
