Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mghebrishvili attended Safety and Security Management Council meeting, led by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.
Members of the council tackled security issues of the country, considering recent developments in the world and region in this regard. Parties discussed the issueS related to enhancement of the preventive as well as the additional security measures. Decision of enforcing border regime and control of the strategic facilities was also made.
“I can tell you from my position that border regime will be enforced at border crossing points as well as on the green border. Police control will also be enhanced. We are in constant communication with law enforcement agencies of our partner countries”-stated Minister of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was also attended by other council members: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vice Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Defense Tinatin Khidasheli, secretary of Safety and Security Management Council Mindial Janelidze, Head of the State Security Service Vakhtang Gomelauri, Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri, Head of Special State Security Service Anzor Chubinidze, Head of the Inteligence Department Davit Sujashvili and Chairman of Parliamentary Committee of Defense and Security Irakli Sesiashvili.
