The Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze met with Georgian policemen who participated in the fifth World Police and Fire Games. The Minister congratulated sportsmen police officers with victory and awarded them with Certificates of Appreciation and financial awards.
Under the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaize 11 Georgian policemen were involved in the games. They earned 21 medals in swimming and Judo competitions, including 3 gold, 11 silver and 7 bronze. Team of Georgian policemen contested with the strongest teams from 32 countries, including former and active sportsmen. Ushangi Kuzanashvili has defeated opponent category and won the gold medal in 66 kg weight; In 73 kg weight category Mikheil Khomizuri has also won the gold medal; In free style, Giorgi Berdzenishvili earned 1gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals; In 81 kg weight category Nodar Mtchedlishvili has also won silver medal; Giorgi Bolotashvili has won 1 silver medal (+100kg); In heavy weight category (+100kg) Zviad Chinchaladze has won 2 silver medals in age category and general contest; Gela Baratashvili won silver medal in 60kg weight category and bronze medal in general contest; In 90 kg weight category Tornike Gvenetadze won silver and bronze medals; Swimmer Giorgi Samarghanashvili von 3 silver and 1 bronze medals, while swimmer Levan Varamashvili won 2 bronze medals.
To approve achieved success team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will participate in the next World Police and Fire Games which will held in USA.
