Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze visited ongoing rescue and cleanup operation held in Dariali gorge. Rescuers of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department conduct operation in round-the-clock regime despite poor weather conditions.
Search and rescue operations with heavy machinery is conducted successfully. Road clearing activities are held, while the natural riverbed at the point where Tergi River is joined by its tributary, River Devdoraki is artificially blocked and water flow is re-directed to the channel. Tunnel located near Dariali HES has been drained from the water, where employees of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department are holding search and rescue operation at the moment.
