Employees of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department, Patrol Police Deparatment and representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development managed to cut the new riverbed for River Devdorak.
Minister of Internal Affairs viewed the results of undertaken measures personally. By cutting new riverbed water started to flow from the natural reservoir which was created as a result of the landslide. The riverbed will lower the level in the water level in reservoir, enabling rescue and search operations to be held in the mentioned area. At this moment search and rescue operation is underway as well as cleanup activities in Devdoraki gorge. 11 Citizens were transported with helicopter to the Larsi border checkpoint who were able to leave Georgian state border to the direction of the Russian Federation.
