Head of the Austrian Federal Criminal Police Office, Mr. Franz Lang paid an official visit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Within the framework of the visit, Austrian side will present the EU International Law Enforcement Cooperation Project, which provides for the creation of the new Law Enforcement Coordination Unit on a national level that will manage International Cooperation within the MIA. It is worth mentioning that the initiator and leader of project is the Austrian Ministry of the Interior.
Meetings are planned with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Aleksandre Tchikaidze, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Giorgi Zedelashvili, Director of International Relations Department, Mr. Shalva Kvinikhidze and the Director of the Central Criminal Police Department, Mr. Ivane Papiashvili.
The parties expressed their willingness to intensify cooperation with each other, especially in the field of combating organized crime.
The delegation will also pay a visit to the MIA Academy and the Emergency Management Operative Center “112”.
The visit lasts until 21 May.
