Vakhtang Gomelauri, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Tamar Zhvania, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Georgia signed the Memorandum of Understanding to ensure safe and peaceful conduct of the Parliamentary Elections of October 31, 2020.
The coordinated work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission will ensure maximum security during the election process. According to the Memorandum, coordinated exchange of information between the parties will take place between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the CEC. In addition, the cooperation envisages organization of joint trainings and workshops. The forms of cooperation between the parties during the election period and the relevant legal framework were determined.
The Memorandum provides for the cooperation and coordinated work of the parties in order to ensure that on Election Day the voting process takes place in a peaceful and free environment.
