Deputy Minister of Internal Affars- Nino Tsatsiashvili held meeting with the President of National Democratic Institute (NDI) – Derek Mitchel and representatives of the pre-election monitoring mission.
Nino Tsatsiashvili made special emphasis on the measures planned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to maintain public order and security during the pre-election period and election day and ensure safe, free and peaceful environment during elections.
At the online meeting, parties discussed the importance of proactively providing interested parties with relevant information on the elections and adhering to the principle of political neutrality in the election process. Parties also discussed the importance and need to take safe measures with regard to Covid-19.
Online meeting was also attended by the leading NDI expert and Electoral Program Director- Patrick Merlo, Director of NDI office in Kirgizia- Alan Gillam, NDI Regional Director in Eurasia - Laura Jewett, NDI Georgian Program Head Manager and Advisor in Gender Issues – Teona Kupunia and NDI Parliamentary Program Coordinator (NDI) – Mariam Baramidze.
