The first meeting of the Steering Committee of the EU-funded project - "Improving Quality of Prosecution and Criminal Investigation in Georgia" was held. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nino Tsatsiashvili.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of successful implementation of the project and highlighted directions supported by the EU-funded project. At the online meeting members of the Steering Committee discussed the results achieved within the project and identified future activities. The distance meeting was also attended by the Directors of the International Relations and Information-Analytical Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the representatives of the EU delegation, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and the State Inspector’s Service.
The project has been implemented in close cooperation with the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia since 2016. The aim of the project is to support, coordinate and monitor the reform of the criminal justice system, as well as to facilitate the reform process in the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in accordance with international standards and obligations.
