The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Georgia, Carl Hartzell. Parties to the meeting stressed the particular significance of the visa-free travel between Georgia and the EU and used the opportunity to discuss current issues that followed the introduction of the visa-free regime.
During the meeting with Carl Hartzell, Vakhtang Gomelauri highlighted the significant role of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in the adjacent territory of the occupation line. The
Minister of Internal Affairs expressed gratitude to the European partners for their effort to maintain peace in the region.
At the meeting, Carl Hartzell underlined the successful cooperation of the European Union with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ambassador emphasized the importance to deepen relations between Georgia and the European Union in the security sector.
