The base of the First Division of the Special Tasks Department of the Special and Emergency Measures Center, the MIA hosted the official ceremony of taking the oath by two hundred forty recruits. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Aleksandre Chikaidze, the Minister of Internal Affairs. The recruits sang the national anthem and marched. After the ceremony the recruits` family members were allowed to get familiarized with the environment their sons would serve in. Mr. Aleksandre Chikaidze, the Minister had a tour around the base of the First Division. The recruits will serve one year compulsory military service at the Department of the Special and Emergency Measures Center; they will learn military disciplines, participate in local sport events, besides, they will be provided with free medical service and meal. The mandatory service period means serving in 24-hour regime, protection of public order and patrolling in conflict regions. The servicemen will also have short-term vacation. After the completion of compulsory military service the servicemen having completed the service period with excellence shall be employed in different units of the MIA after winning in the relevant competition.
