The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Georgia, Diego Colas. The Ambassador introduced to the Minister of Internal Affairs a newly appointed internal security attache of France, Herve Jamet, who started his service in Georgia since September of this year. French liaison officer in migration issues, Amine Tartag also attended the meeting.
Vakhtang Gomelauri congratulated the internal security attache on his appointment and wished success in future activities.
At the meeting, the parties highlighted the effective steps taken in the field of fight against organized crime and illegal migration. Besides, the activity of the Georgian police officers deployed in the French Republic was underlined.
Vakhtang Gomelauri and the French Ambassador further discussed the accomplished and the ongoing activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia undertaken with regard to EU-Georgia visa-free regime.
