The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri, held an official meeting with the Chief of Mission of International Organization for Migration (IOM), Sanja Celebic Lukovac.
Parties of the meeting have discussed the current fruitful cooperation between the Ministry and the International Organization for Migration and opportunities of further deepening the collaboration.
The Minister has underlined the importance of support of IOM for Integrated Border Management, Illegal Migration and Voluntary Return, funded by the European Union and the United States.
The parties of the meeting have also discussed the ongoing projects that are being implemented with the support and involvement of IOM.
Furthermore, Vakhtang Gomelauri has emphasized the importance of the planned projects, which will include capacity building of the Patrol Police Department staff, as well as Border Police officers and provision of additional equipment.
Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed gratitude for the help and support provided by IOM in various fields over the years, especially in regards of integrated border management.
