The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia Mr. Hubert Knirsch.
Mr. Giorgi Gakharia – the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia Mr. Hubert Knirsch. The Minister of Internal Affairs congratulated the Ambassador on the start of his diplomatic missions in Georgia and wished success in future activities.
At the meeting the sides discussed the existing close and effective police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Giorgi Gakharia emphasized the special role of the Institute of Police Attachs in the process of deepening bilateral cooperation with Germany.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia introduced to the Ambassador the ongoing reforms within the framework of System Update of the Ministry. The sides also reviewed the challenges deriving from the enactment of visa-free travel with the EU and the steps to be taken to resolve these challenges.
