Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs held a meeting with Pascal Allizard and Gisle Jourda, the French Senators paying an official visit to Georgia.
The visit of the French Senators aims at preparation of a report on achieved progress by the Eastern Partnership states.
At the meeting Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili discussed with the French guests the issues of cooperation between Georgia and EU, he also emphasized the progress achieved by the Ministry in implementation of the EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan and Association Agreement.
The Minister also talked about the ongoing reforms and planned activities. Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili underlined the successful cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of France and the Central Criminal Police Department of the MIA of Georgia; within the frames of this cooperation the Ministry has delegated the Police Liaison Officer to Paris.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili thanked the Government of France for its support in capacity building of the Ministry and expressed his hope for further deepening of the existing bilateral cooperation between the law enforcement agencies.
