The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Ambassadors of the EU Member States as well as the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Carl Hartzell.
The Ambassadors of Austria, Sweden, France, Greece and Hungary and the Police Attach of Spain attended the meeting. Vakhtang Gomelauri discussed with the representatives of diplomatic corps on-going issues of the visa-free travel with the EU and addressed the current challenges in this regard.
The Minister of Internal Affairs highlighted the strong international law enforcement cooperation and underlined the progress in the area of fight against crime.
Vakhtang Gomelauri underlined Georgia's European aspirations and expressed appreciation to the participants of the meeting for their firm support to country's European integration process.
Parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the relevant agencies of the EU Member States to ensure the successful continuation of visa-free travel.
