The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Georgia, Mark Clayton.
Parties discussed the successful partnership between Georgia and the United Kingdom within the framework Euro Atlantic cooperation. During the meeting, the particular attention was paid to the strengthening of the Black Sea security, and the importance of port calls of NATO Naval Forces in the territorial waters of Georgia within the framework of bilateral cooperation. Furthermore, the ongoing effective cooperation between the parties in the field of fighting against cyber-crime was also underlined.
The Ambassador assessed positively the signing of the Agreement between Georgia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Readmission of Persons Living without a Permit, which will be of an assistance to the effective fight against illegal migration.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the active support in the capacity building of the Ministry.
