The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Georgia, Mark Clayton.
Parties discussed the existing close and effective police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and the United Kingdom. Within the meeting, the particular attention was paid to strengthening the Black Sea security, and the importance of port visits of NATO Naval Units in the territorial waters of Georgia within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
Mark Clayton introduced to the Minister a new project planned in the field of cyber security, which will be launched in the nearest future. As stated by the Ambassador, commencement of the mentioned project once again demonstrates the unwavering support of Great Britain towards Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the active support in the capacity building of the Ministry.
