In the frame of the NATO Days, the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Ms. Rosaria Puglisi visited the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia. The guest was hosted by the Head of the MIA Border Police Temur Kekelidze.
While Ms. Rosaria Puglisi saw a shipbuilding facility on the base of the Coast Guard Department and attended the docking of a patrol boat by means of 200 ton-crane, which had been handed over by the U.S Defence and Threat Reduction Agency. During the meeting, the parties discussed the important work that is being done by the Georgian Coast Guard enforcing the Black Sea Security.
In the frame of the NATO Days the Demo Maritime Exercise has been held for the visitors. The aim of the exercise was to assess interoperability of the boarding teams, introduce timely and correct response mechanism in rapidly changing environment, improve staff skills and check readiness. In order to increase the interoperability the Border Aviation was involved in the training.
