Head and representative of National Central Bureau of Interpol met with Chief Commissioner for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic and Prague Interpol liaison officer in Europe- police Vice-colonel Likas Kepich. Georgian side familiarized guests with reforms and novelties implemented in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In September 1, 2014, Under the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs changes were made to the decree on “Regulation and Security of State Border” according to which authorized MIA employee received access to SLTD documents.
Project of General Secretariat of Interpol “FIND” was successfully implemented by the Georgian bureau in September of the current year. Within the frames of the project SLTD database was integrated at all border checkpoints of Georgia. The mentioned database contains more than 45 million notes. The mentioned base is being updated by Interpol member states on the regular basis and serves as effective mechanism against the fight with crime for Georgian law enforcers, especially taking into consideration the fact that lost travel documents are often applied by crime syndicates and terrorist groups.
At the meeting sides also discussed future plans and ways to deepen the existing cooperation.
